Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 5, 2026
Exodus ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website at exodusevac.com and our mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: name, email address, home address, and ZIP code when you sign up or join our waitlist.
- Payment information: debit card details for benefit disbursements, processed through Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
- Location data: GPS coordinates to verify evacuation zone exit when you have an active plan and an evacuation order is in effect. Location is only collected with your permission and only when needed to process a benefit payment.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version to provide and improve the Service.
- Usage data: how you interact with the app and website, including pages viewed and features used.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Monitor your registered address for mandatory evacuation orders.
- Process and disburse benefit payments when a qualifying event occurs.
- Send you service-related notifications, including evacuation alerts.
- Communicate with you about your account, waitlist status, and product updates.
- Improve the Service and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Service providers: third parties that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting, and analytics, subject to confidentiality agreements.
- Insurance partners: to the extent required to administer and underwrite the benefits provided through the Service.
- Legal authorities: when required by law, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Exodus, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case the acquiring entity will be bound by this Privacy Policy.
4. Location Data
Location access is required to confirm zone exit and trigger your second benefit payment. We collect your GPS location only when: (a) you have an active Exodus plan, (b) a mandatory evacuation order covers your registered address, and (c) you have granted location permission in your device settings. We do not track your location at other times. You may revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, though this will prevent automatic processing of your second payment.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@exodusevac.com.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please notify us immediately at privacy@exodusevac.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@exodusevac.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Third-Party Links
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
